Great Reading
Hypothyroidism: The Unsuspected Illness by Broda Barnes, MD,
This is a classic in the field of Real
Life Thyroidology. I read the book some 40 years ago and was excited by the field. I got to Medical School, and no one talked
about Thyroid problems, so I pretty much forgot about the book. Many years later, I discovered that virtually every word of
it is true. The link connects to the Broda Barnes Foundation web site. A definite "must" read and see.
Solved: The Riddle of Illness by Stephen Langer, MD
Stephen Langer's Solved: The Riddle of
Illness is another great introduction to the field. Langer worked with Broda Barnes, and he covers some very important
topics in Thyroid Disease. The book is easy to read, and has a very accurate picture of Hypothyroidism. Read this, and you
will probably have a much better understanding of Hypothyroidism than they still teach in Med School. The link to Mary
Shomon's review of the book.
Living Well With Hypothyroidism by Mary Shomon
Mary Shomon is a powerful force for good in the Thyroid
Wars (The battles we all fight to get good care for our Thyroid Problems). Her book is excellent and tells about everything
you need to know to survive and do well with your Hypothyroidism. The link is to a review on Mary's web site. One
of the most worthwhile sources of Thyroid information
